H. CANNED GOODS DIVISION
2025 SPECIAL RULES FOR CANNED GOODS



1.     REGISTRATION is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 12.
 
2.     Entries will be judged based upon the following separation: 
 
   Adult entries 
a. Adult: 19 - 64 years old
b. Senior Citizens: 65+ years old
   
   Youth entries will be judged based upon the following separation: 
a. Sub-Junior: 4 - 8 years old
b. Juniors: 9- 13 years old
c. Seniors: 14 – 18 years old
 
   Day Care and Preschool ages – Ribbons only 
 
3. Awards - A blue, red, or white ribbon will be awarded to each category based upon merit. Grand & Reserve Champion rosettes will be awarded within each division by age category, based upon merit. 
 
4. Pick up will be Sunday, October 19, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
 
5. Packaging- Canned goods must be in standard pint or quart jars. (Example: Kerr, Ball) No mayonnaise or other odd-shaped jars will be accepted. No colored jars will be accepted. 
The jars must be clean and polished and without chips. 
No embellishments are allowed. Do not cover or decorate lids or any part of the jar.  
Do not put your name on any part of the jars, names are only allowed on the entry tag.
Lids must be sealed. The use of paraffin for sealing is not permitted. Lids and rings must be free of rust and other defects.  
All jars will be opened at the time of judging. No homemade wine entries will be accepted.
 
6. Labels- All labels should be 1 ½ inch wide and 3 inches lone and placed on the jar opposite the brand name jar with name or recipe and date canned. All canned items will be inspected at check-in. If not properly sealed or spoiled in any manner, the item will be disqualified.
