Calhoun County Fair Queen

Good Evening. My name is Meghan Wehmeyer and it has been an honor to serve as your 2016 Calhoun County Fair Queen. As Fair Queen, I have been given many opportunities to give back to the incredible community that has given me so much. It has truly been my privilege over this past year to participate in many wonderful events and programs such as:
 Calhoun County Fair Youth Livestock Show & Auction
 Calhoun County Fair Commercial Heifer Show & Auction
 Calhoun FFA Community Wide Trick-or-Treating
 Calhoun County Veteran’s Day Parade

All of the extraordinary experiences made available to me here in Calhoun County have truly been humbling and have prepared me for the next chapter of my life.  I am currently attending Texas A&M University in College Station, where I am pursuing a double major with a degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as a degree in Dance Science. I plan to pursue a career working with young children who face physical, emotional, intellectual and behavioral challenges. I am currently a member of the TAMU Alpha Phi Omega chapter, Student Council for Exceptional Children and the Special Olympics. I am excited for the future and honored to have been a part of the 2016 Calhoun County Fair Court. This experience would not have been possible without a few very special people:
 First, the Fair Board and specifically, Melissa and Karina, our Calhoun County Fair Queen Pageant Coordinators, who have done a magnificent job throughout the year planning and coordinating all of our events.
 My extraordinarily talented Fair Court, who filled every event with lots of laughter, smiles and heartwarming memories.
